METEORA
Meteora is known all over the world for the natural beauty of the rocks and for the monasteries located on some of the cliff edges. Millions of tourists from all over the world visit Meteora to visit the monasteries, to wander around Kastraki, but also to explore the landscape of Meteora through beautiful paths that move between the rocks.
The monasteries of Meteora, which are built on the tops of some of the rocks, are today the second most important monastic complex in Greece, after Mount Athos. Meteora, which has been described as the second Mount Athos, has continued the monastic tradition for about six centuries. Of the thirty that existed historically, today only six are in operation, which, since 1988, have been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Add your own description to the “guest book” of the Meteors, which reach 2 million each year.
